Our services
We take a warm, friendly and collaborative approach to therapy and provide a safe and relaxed environment for our patients to reach their therapeutic goals.
Second Nature abides by the ethics of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and leverages a wide variety of evidence-based and contemporary treatment modalities and therapies. We offer face-to-face appointments at our practice on the Mornington Peninsula, online Telehealth sessions, or a combination of both.
Individual
counselling
Our individual counselling sessions provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where children, adolescents, and adults can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Sessions are flexibly tailored to each individual, with adjustments to pace, structure, and delivery to support each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and needs.
We support clients with concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, Autism, and life transitions, combining evidence-based approaches (CBT, ACT, DBT) with practical strategies that can be applied at home, school, or in the community. Where clinically appropriate, sessions may also incorporate movement-based or outdoor approaches, including walking therapy.
Our approach is collaborative and grounded in acceptance, helping clients reconnect with their authentic selves, build awareness of emotional and physiological cues, and develop the skills needed to thrive in everyday life.
Parent sessions
Parent sessions provide guidance, support, and practical strategies to help families navigate challenges and support their child’s development. These sessions focus on strengthening parent-child relationships, understanding behaviours, and promoting wellbeing at home and school.
We work collaboratively with parents, offering a non-judgmental space to explore concerns, build confidence, and implement strategies that make a meaningful difference in daily life.
Please note:
We do not offer support for WorkCover, TAC or VOCAT clients, court or forensic matters (including reports or expert witness services), complex family separation or violence-related issues, eating disorders, or high-risk presentations requiring crisis care.
